At Quicken Loans, our team members are passionate about doing good in their communities. From our national initiative to end veteran homelessness to the thousands of hours we invest annually volunteering, we are a company that is always striving to make a positive impact and find new ways to give back.

For the last four years, one of our biggest initiatives has been the Quicken Loans Community Challenge, a friendly fundraising competition where nonprofit organizations compete to raise money with the winner earning cash prizes from Quicken Loans.

The Community Challenge is unique for two reasons. The first is scale. With more than 17,000 team members in Detroit, and 30,000 team members across the entire Rock Family of Companies nationwide, the Community Challenge presents a huge opportunity for nonprofits to share their mission in front of a big audience that can drive major fundraising.

This is important as fundraising is one of the most challenging and time-consuming tasks a nonprofit manages. They can’t operate without their funds, but every dollar spent on fundraising is one less dollar they have to move their mission forward. By giving nonprofits the chance to make their pitch to a massive audience of enthusiastic team members, not to mention offering bonus prizes, we are able to help them meet their fundraising goals more quickly and efficiently.

The second reason the Community Challenge is unique is because all the participating organizations are nominated by our team members. This makes the competition even more personally fulfilling for our team members. Many of them become internal champions for their favorite nonprofit.

This year, we are extremely proud to announce that our efforts helped nonprofits in Detroit, Charlotte, Phoenix, Cleveland and nationwide raise more than $870,000. Below is a list of this year’s winners.

Over the last four years, the Community Challenge has raised more than $3.7 million total for deserving nonprofits. This is just one of the many ways that Quicken Loans is giving back to our communities. To learn more about our work, check out the Quicken Loans Community Fund.
