5 Key Features of the MyQL Homepage

Here at Quicken Loans, we’re always looking for a better way to serve our clients. For the 1.5 million clients and growing whose loans we service, we’re constantly looking to improve our communication. We want you to be able to get the information you need when you need it, in an easy-to-digest format. After all, simplicity is genius.

To that end, we’ve designed our MyQL homepage to make it easier to use. Although all of our webpages are constantly evolving, with this iteration we focused on five key features based on your feedback. We hope you like the changes. Watch the video above and check out more details below.

    Easier Access to Chat

The first feature you might notice is at the top of every page. Mortgages can be complex and while we go to great lengths to make everything as easy as possible to understand, it makes sense that you might occasionally have a question. Now, it’s even easier to chat with a Home Loan Expert.

If you have a question on your payment, a recent escrow analysis, obtaining a new loan or anything else, the big blue chat button at the top of every page allows you to connect with someone who can help.

    Activity Feed

Another feature you’ll notice is an activity feed. This shows you everything that’s happened with your loan account in the last 30 days. It also highlights upcoming actions on your account within the next 60 days.

This will help you keep track of your payments and payment dates. In addition, you’ll see when escrow disbursements will be made to pay for things like your property taxes and homeowners insurance.

Once a year, Quicken Loans completes an escrow analysis to make sure you have enough money in your escrow account to make up for any changes in your taxes or insurance premiums. You’ll be able to see the date when this analysis will be done. If that analysis determines your payment will change due to an escrow shortage, you’ll see the date the change goes into effect as well as your options for paying off the shortage.

    My Loan

This section will show you many key pieces of information regarding your loan. At the top, you can see your remaining mortgage balance as well as your current term and interest rate.

However, it gets really cool if you look just below this. You can save on interest and pay off your loan at an earlier date by putting extra money toward your principal in addition to your monthly payment. Maybe you do this every month or maybe it’s once a year. Whatever the case, you can see how much extra principal you paid and the amount of interest and payments it’s saved you so far. You can also see when you would pay off your loan if you kept on the current schedule. Finally, you have the option of using our amortization calculator to see how putting extra money toward your loan could affect your payoff date and keep you from spending so much money on interest.

    My Property

In this area, you can see your remaining loan balance compared to the estimated value of your home. This value is based on home data available in your area. This really gives you an idea of the amount of equity you have available in your home. This helps you decide whether it’s a good idea to take cash out or possibly sell your home and buy a new one if it’s time to upgrade or downsize.

If you do decide it’s time to buy again, the homepage also offers the ability to explore homes on the nearby market and access other helpful resources within our Family of Companies. In this area, you can access products and services from one of our sister companies as well as special offers from our partners.

    My Escrow

There’s a saying about one of the two things we’re guaranteed in life is taxes. As property values change, our taxes change. It makes sense. It would just be helpful to have an idea of what’s coming so we can budget for it.

The homepage features a section on escrow trends. That way, you can see where escrow amounts are trending and be better prepared for changes in the future.

If you want to check out the homepage, all you have to do is sign in to your MyQL account. If you don’t have a MyQL account, we certainly recommend checking it out. It’s a great way to manage your mortgage and help meet your financial goals. If you have any other questions, feel free to leave them for us in the comments.
