Golf season is in full swing, and Quicken Loans is honored to sponsor the Quicken Loans National for the fourth year in a row.
This year, the PGA TOUR will be held at the TPC Potomac, just outside of our nation’s capitol. But what really makes this tournament special is the tribute it pays to our men and women who have protected – or are currently protecting – our great nation. Honoring our military men and women has always played a big role in the Quicken Loans National and who Quicken Loans is as a company.
During the tournament, we’ll be handing out lanyards to all active duty and retired military personnel. The lanyards give military personnel access to exclusive opportunities, express entry, dedicated concession lines and merchandise discounts.
Shot for Heroes
We’re also proud to bring back the Quicken Loans Shot for Heroes event, benefitting Operation Homefront and the Tiger Woods Foundation.
A big change from last year’s Shot for Heroes event – we’ll be on the actual driving range this year! Fans will have the chance to take a shot at a 90-yard target on the same driving range that the pros will be using during this weekend’s tournament.
When a fan (or player) takes to the driving range to make a “Shot for Heroes,” and makes it within 16 feet, Quicken Loans will donate $150 to programs supporting veterans: helping veterans find employment after service, providing them homes through Operation Homefront and advancing education with Tiger Woods scholars.
Even if participants don’t make it within 16 feet, we’re donating $25 for each participant – no matter where the shot lands.
Additionally, all tournament long, for every hole-in-one made at the Quicken Loans Shot for Heroes event, we’ll donate $10,000 to the cause and give the fan who made the shot a matching $10,000.
In the past two years, Quicken Loans has raised nearly $500,000 for military charities through Shot for Heroes and we’re excited to add to the total this weekend!
